There has been slow resurfacing of Gin and Tonic in India and we are enjoying it quite a bit. So when the World Gin Day rolled around the corner, we decided to try three new Gins that have recently landed up in the Indian market and are making quite a splash. Let’s get into this Gin Review
Star of Bombay Gin Review
Coming from the original Bombay Sapphire, the Star of Bombay is their newest creation that infuses a few extra flavours into the Good Ol’ Sapphire. The original Bombay Sapphire is a mix of Juniper flavours combined with some earthy and spicy tones at the back. The Star of Bombay has Bergamot orange peel and Ambrette seed which adds a herby yet spicy note to the Gin. The added citrusy flavours makes this one quite light on the palate too.
Monkey 47 Gin Review
The story of how an RAF pilot founded his favourite afternoon drink in the black forests of Germany is quite a story indeed. Monkey 47, one of the newest Gin Brands to take the world by storm is here in India and we are absolutely in love with it. This unique dry gin is filled with citrusy, herby and peppery notes along with some fuller flavours of their secret ingredient: berries. The Chemistry-Lab styled bottle with a cork stopper just adds to the mystery of this one.

The Botanist Gin Review
Although Scotland is known for it’s whisky, a Gin has also arrived from the molasses. The Botanist Gin, manufactured at the Bruichladdich distillery the Gin has a strong nose of Juniper and the citrus elements but quietly evolves into some sweet spices with a pleasantly bitter taste on the palate.
