Umang Tiwari’s Junkyard Café has become quite much of a name in the top places for good food and casual dining in the city. After tasting success in Rajouri Garden and Connaught Place, a new outlet has been opened in Saket. Located in Southern Park Mall, the place is replete with funky installations and the interiors match its other counterparts and are setting a milestone in junk recycling and turning it into a cool quotient. The ceiling is adorned by a glider plane this time which hangs right above the bar. Taking the legacy of modern art forward and paying a tribute to one of the greatest icons of our time is an MJ artwork made with buttons.

Trying on something different from the diverse menu, we decided to go for Gardino which had watermelon, celery, mint and beetroot churned into a delightful mix. Refreshing in the scorching summers and also doubles up as a nutrient rich drink. Hazelnut Cold Coffee was a little sweet but is worth trying. Strawberry Coconut Milkshake with the rich tropical flavor of the coconut was my personal favourite. Definitely coming back for this one.

STARTERS

Moving on, we had some of the vegetarian and non-vegetarian starters. Bhatti ka Murg Tikka was a delectable dish with perfectly cooked chicken pieces. Chilli Chicken cooked in chilli sauce was spicier compared to Classic Chicken Tikka which had juicy chicken pieces marinated in mild spices. Falafel with Hummus and Pita was an absolute treat with the flavourful falafel with the creamy hummus.

Cilantro Chicken, a simple chicken dish with a spicy, tangy peanut flavoured sauce is a winning combination and is highly recommended. The Crispy Baby Corn is a great snacking option. Veg Spring Rolls were accompanied with a spicy chilli dip which was imparting a great flavor to it.

MAINS

For mains we ordered the Thai Red Curry, Classic Margherita Pizza (crispy thin crust pizza) and Penne Arabiata Pasta. The Thai Red Curry was a wholesome preparation with the irresistible and aromatic sauce. For dessert we had the creamy and fluffy Tiramisu.

A place not to be missed if one is in Saket. This place is perfect to satisfy your hunger pangs after a great deal of shopping or to unwind with friends.
