What could be more fun than reliving the growing up experiences- from the 90s rock and metal to the collector’s paraphernalia, Hard Rock Cafe, Saket has it all. As I walked inside the gigantic place, the beautiful interiors just took my breath away. Comfortable and cosy seating to enjoy good food accompanied with great 90s music was an utter joy. Spotting Adam Levine’s guitar gave me goose bumps. I and fellow bloggers got ourselves seated near the stage. The tables had drink glasses lined up with maracas, sombreros, chilli cutouts and other cute decorations. Our host for the day Rachit introduced us to the new menu and gave valuable information related to it.

So coming to it, Hard Rock Cafe has launched a limited edition ‘Taste of Mexico‘ menu for its latest menu innovation to offer a fiesta of savory, zesty and fiery food. With a view to create unique experiences for its loyalists, it aims to add many more in the list by paying homage to classical Mexican cuisine and cocktails with this new menu. The menu has exclusive dishes and quirky cocktail options incorporating the traditional Mexican inspired spices and flavours.

List of cocktails :-

Mexican Bulldog Margarita (a cascade of beer into a frozen margarita) gave a perfect start to the afternoon. Crafted especially for the beer lovers, it is for all those who do not like many alterations in their drinks. The drink owes its name bulldog to the huge size and quantity.

Next up was the Classic Blue Margarita Crafted for Two. With freshly squeezed lime juice, Jose Cuervo Especial Silver Tequila and hard Rock Café’s secret ingredient Split over rocks. This classic cocktail has the perfect harmony of ingredients acting together to enhance the drink.

Troublemaker which featured hot Jose Cuervo Especial Silver Tequila, jalapeno bits and cointreau was everybody’s absolute favourite. Delight for those who can handle a lot of spice but can also be tried by those looking for something new. The drink is very spicy initially but as one continues having it, it is enjoyable and delightful. The spicy aftertaste lingers on in the throat.

Cranberry and Lychee Margarita tasted sweet with very faint hints of the tequila.

The two other beautiful and refreshing drinks were Diablo featuring fruit of the season, mango, cucumber, silver tequila topped with ginger beer and Amigo with blue berry crush, luxardo sour cherry liqueur, silver tequila and a hint of orgeat.

List of mains :-

Mexi- Cali Spiced Cottage Cheese BBQ Skewers (sizzling skillet of BBQ glazed and spice rubbed cottage cheese skewers, served over chimi churi spiced fajita onion and peppers) is a healthy and filling option. Served with nachos, it completes the Mexican twist.

Tex- Mex Spiced Char Grilled Chicken Skewers tasted heavenly. The juicy chicken in spicy Mexican flavours was accompanied with a honey mustard dip which complemented it really well.

Mexican street Corn Salad comes in both vegetarian and non vegetarian options. Featuring lettuce, black beans, pico de gallo, avocados, jalapenos, roasted corn, and smokey chili orange vinaigrette drizzle, add grilled chicken or grilled prawns, it becomes a non- veg delight.

Samosette of Spicy corn and cheddar cheese were our favourite nachos stuffed with corn, mixed spices with tangy pesto mayo.

Albuquerque, the Vegetraian Burrito consisted of flour tortilla with smoked chipotle ranch, topped with shredded lettuce, crispy potato pops, south west refried beans, sweet chilli, Mexican rice, mixed cheese, roasted vegetables. Served with spiced fries and tangy salsa, it was savoury. We also enjoyed the fries with mayonnaise.

Fiesta Chicken Quesadillas- chicken al pastor, grilled pineapple, picante sauce, chipotle pasta, mixed queso and cilantro was served with a slide of sour cream. The cream helped to balance out the spice.

Bahama Mama- Chicken Burrito (flour tortilla laced with roasted chipotle chilli ranch, corn, dill and smokey baked beans, Mexican rice, seasoned crunchy chicken tenders, shredded lettuce, mixed cheese and jalapenos). It was served with tangy salsa and sour cream. Unlike the traditional burrito which is a bit hard, this was soft and melted in the mouth and had mild flavours of the ingredients.

Beginning 2 May, 2016, patrons will be able to experience the limited edition menu at Hard Rock Café locations across India, namely Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, Gurgaon, Bangalore and Hyderabad.
