Happening is the word suitable for a place like HARD ROCK CAFE, located in one of the posh malls of Delhi – select city walk on the 1st floor. I was too excited to try their TURN UP THE SIZZLE menu which was full of innovative cocktails with the mix n match of iced teas accompanied with sizzling skillets. The place was full, nothing surprising as it was a Friday evening accompanying with a retro night going on. I really fell in love with the ambience full of classic equipments and clothes of famous singers, dancers and celebrities. The way it was presented on the walls was eye catchy.
As I settled down and looked into the menu I became eager to order something really fast.
“TURN UP THE SIZZLE menu is offering you a chance to win a lucky draw whose winner is announced every Saturday, valid from 1st February to 29th February, try this menu and sizzle to India’s first HARD ROCK HOTEL in Goa”. I ordered Texas iced tea which was sweet and smoky as it was whiskey based libation. The next one was the big bull iced tea for 2 a mixture of red bull, blue Curacao, and 6 spirits sufficient to take you really high.
Then I spread my hands over their skillets, started with a HERB CRUSTED CHICKEN served on smoky vegetables with chardonnay fondue sauce, crispy corn strips and tangy tomato spaghetti. Chicken was coated with a zest of lemon and flourishing its tenderness in a delicious way. Next I tried was MEXICAN CHIPTOLE CHICKEN AND PRAWN SKILLET presented on a bed of fajita onion pepper served with crispy masala fries, tangy salsa and Mexican rice topped with smoked chilli cilantro sauce. There were many more like CHICKEN MAKHANI SKILLET having Indian flavours of char grilled tandoori spiced chicken with makhani gravy and the show stealer was the veg ITALIAN MAFIA with a crisp outside and soft filling of spinach and cheese croquette inside.
After going through these heavenly things I ended my evening with shots of BACDROP a mixture of Bacardi Limon, fresh lime juice, lime wedge and sugar giving it a refreshing flavour and BLOODY HOT CHOCOLATE which is a MUST TRY for chocolate lovers as it was having vodka with velvet cream liqueur, chocolate sauce and laced with tobasco.
