Hyatt Regency, New Delhi has been one of Delhi’s most iconic hotels for the last three decades. The sheer opulence of the Hotel located in Bhikaji Cama Place is something that has always brought back memories of awe while coming back from school. Although the erstwhile Savitri cinema complex has been converted into a series of eateries, but Hyatt still holds strong with it’s delectable food and impeccable service. One of it’s most iconic restaurants was Angaan which used to serve out traditional Indian food but the recent change in infrastructure of the Hotel meant that the restaurant had to be shut down. With the patrons yearning for those flavours, the menu at Angaan has been re-introduced in a brand new avatar at Latitude 66.

Let some cool breeze tug at you while you enjoy the majestic view of the Hyatt hotel replete with an outdoor swimming pool from their poolside restaurant. Chef Khurana regales you with some authentic Indian tastes. The menu is concise and we try out a platter of starters.

The non-vegetarian platter has a succulent Seekh Kebab along with a delectable Lasuni Jheenga and a melt in your mouth Murgh Afghani. The most noticeable part being the strong use of spices which stand out separately on each of the dishes instead of becoming a mangle.

The vegetarian platter includes a Khumani ka Paneer and a Chatpate Aloo Tandoor Se. The combination of sweet apricots and the heat of spice plays a wonderful melody on your palate. The Potato filled with green peas also impresses.

For the mains, we try out the Nalli Rogan Josh. Clean cut, creamy, spicy flavours which go like a dream with a garlic naan. We polish off our meal with Gulab Jamuns.

Needless to say, although Angaan may have been shut down, but the flavours at Latitude 66 will definitely keep you warm this chilly winter.
