The heart of Delhi lies in Connaught place and the Food and Nightlife scenario in Connaught place is becoming very complex day by day. Every month, new restaurants open up with promising new concepts making a real cut throat competition besides also keeping the quality of their stuff top notch to entertain guests who are looking to relax with a glass of soothing cocktail or to have a gala time with their loved ones over a lip smacking meal.

Talking of the food and nightlife in Connaught Place and not mentioning Mr. Priyank Sukhija is bit unfair. There is no locality and league in Delhi’s food & nightlife scene that is left untouched by him. Priyank Sukhija has changed the way people dine and drink in the heart of the capital with his mega establishments like Warehouse Cafe, Townhouse Cafe and the recent talk of the town Lord of the Drinks. He is back with his another establishment which also happens to be one of his ambitious projects called Tamasha. The property is huge and is spread across 16000 sq feet making it one of the enormous restaurants in Connaught place.

Place and Feel

Wada Pav Slider

Wada Pav Sliders (INR 255) is a classic tribute to the famous street food of Mumbai.

Co owed by Jaideep Anand and Gundeep Anand, the latest entrant in the prime location of Connaught Place is at Kasturba Gandhi Marg. The place is enormous 350 + cover restaurant with Bar, serving Fusion cuisine with Oriental, Continental, and finger food with the bar designed as a truck that will take you through this gastronomical journey. Despite of it being situated on the ever buzy KG marg, the ambience of the place is much better than lot of other restaurants in Connaught Place.

Food Talks

Hummus

Authentic Lebanese Hummus dip in a martini glass with pita

With a extensive menu which offers a wide variety of cuisine the focus is rightly on good food. We have a vast option from North Indian to Oriental and Continental dishes. We were invited to review the establishment and we tried out the various offerings that is their signature dishes and among hot selling food items. We started with Hummus Martini (INR 295) which is a delightful and photogenic dish. Lip smacking hummus dish is topped in a Martini glass and served with lavaash and pita. It stood out to be an ideal appetizer for us and it was something uniquely done. Following it was Paneer 65 Baos (INR 295) soft steamed baos are filled with South Indian style cottage cheese stuffing and is served along with mint sauce and masala onions. An exceptional Fusion dish which is giving you the taste of the two different regions.  Wada Pav Sliders (INR 255) is a classic tribute to the famous street food of Mumbai. Heading on to the mains we tried their Thai Green Curry Bento Box (INR 365). I remember those combo meals and bento box we used to try at food courts and here you get  a generous amount of rich Thai curry which is served along with high quality steamed rice and crunchy spring rolls, making it an ideal meal offered at an economical price. Chicken Chettinad (INR 375) is surprisingly close to the authentic chettinad curry from Tamil Nadu. This dish is served with Malabar paranthas and every bite of the same is cherished.

We ended our meal on a sweet note with some promising desserts offered by Tamasha.  The Choco Mousse was indeed a sweet sin. Soft and goeey dessert with a very delicate base is one of the best chocolate desserts at the place. The red velvet slice also makes its mark with generous amount of mascarpone cheese and beetroot in it.
