Sri Lankan Airlines Business Class Review and Serendib Lounge

I recently traveled along with Sri Lankan Airlines aboard the Business Class from Delhi to Colombo and back and quite enjoyed the experience in all. After rushing through immigration and baggage control after landing from Dubai. Although Check-in took us a bit of time, immigration and security were a breeze as we were upgraded to Business Class. Sri Lankan Airlines is part of the One World Alliance and you can use the ITC Green Lounge on the 1st floor near the Food Court.

Food Aboard Sri Lankan Airlines

The flight starts off with a welcome drink which is usually a glass of juice in the mornings while you can get Champagne for Lunch and Dinner flights. The seat provides for a blanket and pillow along with high-quality headphones to listen to your in-flight entertainment. The headphone packet also has stickers for letting the hostesses know whether you want to be disturbed or not. The seat also has a small remote tucked into the side along with switches for backrest and footrest and a small USB charging unit under the entertainment screen.

There are pretty much basically two menus, one for breakfast and the other for Lunch and Dinner. I had ordered the Idlis for the Breakfast menu while Seafood Noodles for the Lunch while returning home. I quite enjoyed the Seafood noodles as it was served with fish, mussels and prawns. The Beverage menu is also quite extensive and you can find yourself some local favourite Arrack along with a Tawny Port that I ordered for Lunch.

Serendib Lounge of Sri Lankan Airlines

Although we hadn’t used the Lounge at Delhi, we were definitely going to use the Serendib Lounge at Colombo. Located just after the Duty-Free, the Lounge is quite beautifully decorated with a Buffet and a Bar that you can access. The Serendib Lounge also offers a complimentary Ayurvedic massage, you can either take a Foot or Head and Neck. The hostess also calls out your flight when it is time to board.

Sri Lankan Airlines is a full-service airline and they also fly to Europe, the Middle East, and Australia. So if you’re planning to fly anywhere especially Sri Lanka soon, do check out the amazing offers onboard Sri Lankan Airlines
