To promote the use of Pistachios, American pistachio growers (APG) have joined hands with Foodhall for the providing best quality California pistachios in India. APG is a non-profit, voluntary agricultural association of growers whose aim is to promote the usage of California Pistachios in mainstream cooking.

Foodhall, as we all know is a one stop store for all the food related shopping. May it be sauces, confectionary, dips, breads, fresh fruits and vegetables, dairy products, teas and coffees or any imported or Indian item, you can find it all at Foodhall. They provide free sampling of various ingredients including spices and one can find variety of brands at this store. To get people started with using Pistachios, the French corporate chef of Foodhall, Olivier Vincenot, presented a demo to the attendees. He demonstrated how easy and quick it is to cook these 3 dishes which are full of California pistachios and amazing flavour:

1. Pistachio Blanc Mange: A savoury dessert which consists of simple ingredients like whole milk, gelatine, cream and obviously, California Pistachios.

2. Pistachio Cannoli: This waffle based dessert can be enjoyed at home if only you can make the waffles or buy them. The filling inside the waffle consists of cream, flour, vanilla, sugar and other basic ingredients. It is indeed a mix of creamy and crunchy delight.

3. Pistachio Hummus: For hummus addicts, this would be a treat! There are various kinds of flavoured hummus in the market, but healthy advantage can be derived from the one which is flavoured by California Pistachios. It is also a signature recipe of APG.

Glimpses of the event:
The chef started out by introducing the health benefits of pistachios which helped people understand why they should be included in our diet. Then he prepared all 3 recipes simultaneously, also teaching the art of mixing the delicate ingredients in terms of technique and quantity as well as garnishing the outcome to give a final touch. The waffles were freshly made by him and the way they turned out amazed all the attendees. The event ended up with people asking their doubts on the usage of Pistachios and more about their health benefits.
