New town café is a place where you would find simplest of things prepared in a sophisticated way. Team Salt and Sandals attended Sunday brunch and after tasting the delectable menu, we were amazed by the way the spices were fused with each other. The north Indian food was the best among all the other cuisines. Though they have cycling menu for the buffet, luckily we got a break from typical dal makhni and got to taste rajma instead.

Kadai paneer and dal makhni were full of flavours. Bhindi do pyaaz was minutely crispy and onion enhanced the taste. Even a thing like bottle gourd was stuffed with cheese and vegs. It was pretty soft from inside and little hard from the outside which prevented it from breaking.

If you are a lover of street food, then you can ring the golden bells because they server some seriously indulging street food. Chaat, papdi, tikka, golgappe will spice up the buds. Various ingredients were displayed on a typical street vendor style Rickshaw which added to the authentic feel.

They also have a pasta station. The pasta and baked vegetables were having very creamy sauce, with a pinch of sweetness. The aroma of the sauce while pasta was being cooked was in itself a proof of perfection. Polenta was soft yet stable in form. It was not dry and bland, which we especially liked.

In Chinese the menu had Hakka noodles and veg in chilli basil sauce. The sauce did not burn the tongue with chilli which was pleasing for us. After mixing it up with the noodles, it became a fulfilling mean in itself.

In cocktails, so try either naked or v-shock if you are a vodka fan. V-shock was a concoction of vodka, blackcurrant and chocolate.

The dessert counter was full of delicacies, a few were eggless. Fruit trifle was pretty soft. Dollops of cream which whooshed with the tongue had fruit pieces inside. It was pretty lovely and not overwhelmingly sweet. Bas-Bousa was little sweeter. Though it looked heavy, but it wasn’t. In fact it was a refreshing dessert. Another must try was chocolate pastry and Kiwi dessert which was really unique. Well, if you are still left with space to stuff yourself, then there were donuts, chocolate fountain and other luscious desserts as well!
