Jamie Oliver’s first offspring in India is his pizzeria, perched on the third floor of Gurgaon’s everbuzzing Ambience Mall. This was followed by the restaurant Jamie’s Italian. The Small and intimate, with dimly lit interiors. Sit back and watch as the chefs hand toss doughs. The walls here are hung with photographs of Jamie framed in rustic wood; and large chalkboards advertising delicious ingredients. Best of all is a wrap-around kitchen where the sound of frying cheese brightens up the generic playlist (Thriller by Michael Jackson appears to be a favorite). Also, all the cookbooks Jamie Oliver has ever written are available to browse or buy.

We start with a FLASH FRIED PRAWNS. Gigante prawns flash fried with chilli, garlic, lemon, white wine, fresh flat parsley served with grilled ciabatta. Following it was the ROASTED PEPPER CALZONE-Filled with creamy tomato sauce, roasted peppers, courgettes, red onion & mature cheddar, served with lemony rocket salad. The calzone had a wide array of flavours which made it one of the most delightful appetiser for us. The garlic scented Spinach And Ricotta Ravioli was indeed an Italian treat. It had garlic scented spinach which gave it a pungent taste. Creamy ricotta filled pasta which is tossed in a sage and lemon butter sauce with pinenuts and parmesan cheese.image
For the mains we headed for the Gennaro’s Chicken Primavera. Chargrilled chicken breast is served with sweet peas, edamame beans, courgette and their in house fresh basil pesto which did the trick for this dish. For the pizza we settled for a Sunny Margherita pizza. Thin crusted pizza consisted of hand – crushed tomatoes, bocconcini, sundried tomato paste and sweet basil on a crisp base finished with vegetarian parmesan. The next to follow was the SUMMER GARDEN PIZZA. This hand stretched artisan pizza comes with creamy ricotta, topped with edamame, garden peas, grilled courgette and mozzarella cheese, finished with lemony yoghurt. We ended the journey on a sweet note with ULTIMATE DESSERT PLANK. It had each of their delicious desserts to share with our team.

Often listed amongst the best beaches in the world, Anse Lazio in Praslin, Seychelles truly open gates to altogether new world. And let me tell you, reaching here was quite a journey. One has to reach the bottom of the hill to Zimbabwe either by car or bus, then one has to trek over a large forested jungle clad hill and along some way before you reach the beach. But the journey is well worth the effort with views that take your breath away perfect with fine white sands and gorgeous turquoise waters that are so clear you can watch the fish swim around you, it's no surprise Anse Lazio is frequently called 'the best beach in the world'.

The Dakshin Yatra, Flavours from the South at crowneplazaokhla features a plethora of authentic flavours from the region.  For Starters: The scrumptious Paniyarams, both Savory and sweet ,medu Vada, Idiyappam with chicken curry and Idli with a plethora of chutneys to choose from coconut, raw mango, coriander and beetroot. Savour the curd rice with a wide range of non-vegetarian and vegetarian achaars (pickle's) including mutton, chicken , tuna, raw mango and karela.  In the mains, there is Pineapple and tomato rasam, Meen manga curry(fish), Kari krassi ( chicken), and variety of other vegetarian and non-vegetarian curry dishes from Kerala, Tamilnadu and Andhrapradesh accompanied with papadam and a choice of steam rice or mutton biryani and some regional breads like Kothu parantha.
