The Best Wines are the ones we drink with our friends. Upholding this tradition, Jacob’s Creek the famous winemakers from Australia have been holding Reserve Tables to bring together people from all walks of life. Spread across an immense table, The Reserve Tables are an evening of camaraderie spent revisiting old friendships and making new ones. The Reserve Table took place at the courtyards of JW Marriott and brought together some of Jacob’s Creek’s finest creations with some palate tingling creations by Executive Chef Girish Krishnan.
We start off with a slab of goat cheese and sweet caramelised onion paired with the Classic Chardonnay. The creamy texture of the goat cheese along with its inherently salty taste combines perfectly with the sweet onions and the high acidity of the Classic Chardonnay rounded off with its oak.
Next is the Macerated Baby Asparagus and Citrus induced Ruby Grape Fruit drizzled with Smoked Curd and Candied Walnut Grains with the complex yet classy creamy texture of the Reserve Adelaide Hills Chardonnay.
For the mains, we select the Wild Mushroom Ravioli with Butternut Squash Puree and glazed Cherry Tomato. The earthy flavours of mushroom along with the sprightliness of the squash and tomatoes combine with the explosive flavours of the Classic Shiraz Cabarnet with its soft tannins.
The Reserve Barossa Shiraz comes nest and blows you away with full explosive flavours with tannins that leave a mark and taste of dark berries. We combine that with a creamy spinach, mushroom ragout, sour cream and cured carrot. The earthy flavours of the dish cut across the strong flavours and make for a lovely pairing.
