Ingredients
Prawns medium sized: 300 gms
Basmati Rice: 2 cups
Onions: 3 large sized
Green Bell Peppers: 2
Carrot: 2
Tomatoes: 1 large sized(chopped)
Green Chillies Chopped: 2
Garlic-Ginger Paste: 2 tsp
Cumin powder: 11/2 tsp
Turmeric: 1 tsp
Coriander Powder: 1 tsp
Powdered Chili: ½ tsp
Garam Masala: 11/2
Bay Leaves: 2
Salt to taste
Mustard Oil for cooking
Procedure:
- Clean and devein the prawns. Marinate with salt and turmeric.
- Wash the rice.
- Parboil the rice with water and salt. Drain the water
- Fry the chopped onions in oil. Put in the prawns and fry lightly. Pour in the garlic-ginger paste and add the masalas. Fry over medium heat for some time until the prawns turn opaque. Add the vegetables and fry for a minute. Add salt and Garam Masala
- Add half a cup of water.
- Add the parboiled rice to the mixture, cover and cook at low heat for 3 minutes.
- Stir the rice for 2-3 minutes and serve with Raita.
