What is Dragon Boat festival?
The Dragon Boat Festival is a traditional holiday that commemorates the life and death of the famous Chinese scholar Qu Yuan (Chu Yuan). The festival is celebrated by eating zanzi (sticky rice in a shape of pyramid), drink rice wine, race dragon boats and indulge in celebration with friends & family. To celebrate the same we were served a wide variety of sticky rice dumplings.
My take on the rice dumplings?
We were served two types of dumplings. Sticky rice in lotus leaf with asparagus and sticky rice in lotus leaf with edamame and vegetarian duck. I personally enjoyed the second one more, the first one tasted a less spicy version of Indian Biryani. Coming to the sticky rice with edamame and vegetarian duck, the soya (vegetarian duck) complimented the gooey sticky rice really well. I could feel distinct textures in my mouth and  water chestnuts were like cherry on the top. The fresh taste of water chestnut in the gooey texture of sticky rice absolutely stole my heart.

What to order besides the rice dumplings?
I personally loved Yauatcha’s dimsums, so they should be a must. I’ll list down my favorites (which even the staff swears by)-
1. Vegetarian crystal dumpling- This dumpling just stole my heart. The minute you put it in your mouth, it just simply melts away. The outer covering is done with extreme caution and is quiet delicate.
2. Vegetable poached peking Dumpling– This dumpling was my favourite, it comes dipped in a sauce and the combination of the dumpling with the sauce is absolutely mouth watering. The dimsum soaks in so much flavor from the sauce yet isn’t soggy. Absolutely loved this one!

Now comes the favorite part of the meal, if looks could kill, Yauatcha would have been in serious trouble cause their desserts are absolutely gorgeous looking. The presentation is pure art and an absolute bliss. From edible flowers to the sugar work, it was absolutely beautiful. We were served a dessert platter and wine-soaked water chestnut and mango cake with Souvignon sorbet. The dessert platter had Coffee hazelnut Pave with caramelized honey ice cream, Mandrain macadamia cake with mendrin sorbet, Religieuse with Gauduja ice cream, Chocolate hazelnut mouse with honey ice cream and macarons- vanilla, chocolate, pistachio & salted caramel. I personally enjoyed the sorbets quiet alot- especially the souvignon sorbet & mendrin sorbet.
