WHAT IS A BURRITO?

A Burrito is a type of Mexican and Tex-Mex food, consisting of a large wheat flour tortilla with a filling, wrapped into a closed-ended cylinder, in contrast to a taco, where the tortilla is simply folded around the filling. The flour tortilla is sometimes lightly grilled or steamed to soften it, make it more pliable and allow it to adhere to itself when wrapped.

MY EXPERIENCE AT ARRIBA

For the starters we ordered Nachos Carnival, which are basically tortilla chips served with guacamole. The guacamole is a little bland and to add flavors according to your taste, 6 different dips or salsas are served on the side. “Salsa” basically means sauce in Spanish and the 6 salsas could cater to any taste palette. There is a smoky salsa, mango “tangy” salsa, jalapeño “spicy” salsa, etc etc. I am a big on spice, so I just loaded my guacamole with a combination of spicy salsas and I absolutely loved it! A highly recommended dish on their menu!

For my main, I ordered “Pulled spiced jackfruit burrito”. I love jackfruit, also commonly known as “kathal“; so this was a must try for me. Jackfruit or kathal does not have a taste of its own but it has a gooey texture, which I am a big fan of. It was paired with black bean paste which gave the burrito, the much needed smokiness. The fresh tomatoes gave it the much needed acidity and the burrito was wrapped to an absolute perfection. The portion sizes are a little too big, so if you are not a big eater, you could easily share this!

For non-vegetarians I am going to recommend their Mayan Burrito. Its a pulled pork belly which is cooked to an absolute perfection. You can taste the juiciness on each bite! For those who like to stick to their chickens, you could probably give Spicy Chicken and Fresh Water Shrimp Burrito a try. Its an Arriba specialty!

WHAT TO DRINK?!

Arriba is running a monsoon margarita festival where they have introduced 8 new margarita flavors. They even have an unlimited margarita package running where for INR 1399+taxes you could order as many margaritas you want for 150 mins. (Did someone say Tequila?!!)

From their newly introduced margaritas, I tried their coconut, chili and lime. Anyone who is a coconut person, would definitely enjoy this. It is garnished with shaved coconut, so it gives a beautiful texture to the drink. The surprise is the chili hit at the end of the drink and people who love chili would absolutely relish the drink.

The second drink that I tried was Lychee Gondhoraj. Gondharaj is a type of lime from Bengal. It is a drink that Arriba takes pride in serving. As it was Lychee, I was a little hesitant on ordering this one but on the bartenders insistence I decided to give it a try. Now I absolutely hate cocktails which are sweet and being a Lychee drink I was fearing it to be over-sweetened margarita but to my happy surprise, the drink was not at all sweet. It was beautifully balanced and it complimented the tequila beautifully. An absolute must try if you are a margarita person!
