After a dream debut in India with its first restaurant in Delhi’s Khan Market, now Barcelos launches its second outlet in the ever buzzing Hauz Khas Village in Delhi.Barcelos has achieved a worldwide recognition for its flame grilled Peri Peri menu and with time they have been able to sustain that following and also create a special space in the heart of their patrons by introducing their own brand of innovation.Barcelos is also considered to the pioneer in introducing different colour burgers in India. Time to time, they have introduced interesting and innovative food items in their menu ranging from Molecular drinks to boozy shakes and India’s first Sangria bar.

Ambience and Decor :

Barcelos is a town located in Portugal and hence the theme draws it’s inspiration from there. Barcelos keeps its focus on the modern and antique art for the interior. Stretched in the area of 3600 sq ft, the Hauz Khas Village outlet has raw and rustic interiors. Each wall of the restaurant depicts the story of Portugal which is very unique and attractive. The famous personalities and the different shades of Portugal have been painted on the walls. Also the 3D painting of real streets of Portugal on the wall is quite fascinating which creates an authentic ambience of a Portugal town inside the restaurant.

We started off with the Arabian Mezze platter (₹245). It consisted of pita bread, hummus, baba ghanoush, peri hummus and yogurt dip.The dips were fresh and together with the bread and crunchy falafel it made a mouth watering combination. Following it was the Chicken Espetada (₹395) which was a hanging dish skewered with chicken breast, onions and peppers and is served with potato wedges and french fries. The assorted Chicken platter (₹525) is a dream for any carnivore. It consists of Chicken liver with garlic oil, Chicken wings layered with peri peri spice, peri peri mayo and with peri peri sauce.Drum sticks are also made using the same ingredients as used in Chicken wings.

A visit to Barcelos is incomplete without trying their signature burgers. We ordered a plate four sliders (₹295). It comprised of two mutton burgers and two chicken burger served inside a red and black bun respectively.

Coming to the mocktails. Hey Rosey is a rose-based mocktail. Very delicate and refreshing because of the hint of cardamom and rose water. For people who love mangoes, Tangy Mango is for you. Sweet and sour, a bit of spices and some crushed ice. A good drink to wash down those amazing wings on your table. Kiwi Cooler has actual kiwi pulp, hence no artificial flavourings here. A great one!

Also known as home of Peri Peri, Barcelos offers you a choice of sauces, varying in accordance with how spicy each one is. So we have Peri Peri, Mild Peri, Veri Peri and Supa Peri. The lunch table was a playground as we tried sauce after sauce with our platters and burgers. In a nutshell, we recommend all of you to visit Barcelos. On an economical budget, this can be the ideal place to host your next party.
