Le Creuset – a French brand that made cast iron enamel coated cookware so fashionable, globally. Now every home maker’s dream, these brightly colored, smart, all-purpose cookware can change any kitchen from mundane to vibrant. Making amazing cast iron cookware since 1925, Le Creuset has now developed their stoneware range, and recently launched their stone ware collection across India. To initiate their customers with the stoneware collection, Le Creuset held a Live Cookout at their store in Ambience Mall, Gurgaon, with renowned Chef Nishant Choubey. The event saw a great turnout of keen food and lifestyle enthusiasts, from the elite classes of the city, as well as a good mix of social media people and bloggers.
Chef Nishant dished out some great recipes, so gourmet, yet so simple to fix. Only a chef can fill you in to such secrets. Starting with a paneer stuffed with orange marmalade, to his delectable kaffir lime risotto, or the piri piri spiced chicken satay with leeks and shittake mushrooms, the sushi with rice puffs, and sticky rice with mango – all them superbly good.
Chef Nishant cooked all the items in the Le Creuset cookware which are all purpose, once can use them on a stove top, in a conventional oven, or in the microwave oven. Besides being great quality cook ware, they also double up as pretty serve ware. So, it saves one the trouble of cooking and then transferring into something else to serve. Just from the fire to the table!
The peri peri spiced chicken satay with leeks and shitake mushrooms were marinated and then grilled on the stove top on a Le Creuset grill pan, from their stoneware collection. The pan was wide and big enough to hold about 15-20 satays at once and you can leave it on the stove top without worrying about burning or sticking to the pan. Due to the enamel coating of all their products, it is very easy to use, serve from, and clean – no burnt bottoms, no sticking to the pans/pots.
Chef Nishant marinated the orange marmalade stuffed paneer in another wide, deep bottom casserole from Le Creuset and used the same to bake the paneer in. He just put it in the oven as it is. For the dessert Chef had layered the sticky rice, coconut milk, and chopped mangoes in one Le Creuset’s bakeware pan, and then put it in the oven just for a few minutes for it to become warm. The baking pan had neat silicon fittings so one can take it out directly from the oven, without mitts.
The lovely ladies and the dapper gentlemen made quite an eager audience, amazed at the Chef’s expertise as well as admiring the Le Creuset collection, around the store. Le Creuset is a premium brand in cookware, bake ware and serve ware and makes quality products for the kitchen both in cast iron as well as stoneware, all with enamel coatings.
