Bakar Café is a small charming place that has recently opened in Hudson Lane. It has everything to satiate the appetite and is a warm cosy place for ‘Bakar’ (casual chit chat) over good food. A blessing to all the students living nearby and all college going students, it promises affordable yet delicious food. The place is relatively small compared to the cafes in the vicinity but the homely environment and the company of friends makes up for that. The walls are adorned with funky graffitis and quotes. The white lanterns make the place even more beautiful. The wood and cane furniture gives the place a relaxed vibe and the latest Bollywood numbers instantly set the mood. Probably the only place in Delhi that serves potato momos, we are thankful for the newest addition to Delhi’s food scene.
The menu is smartly curated to include a wide array of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. Going for the chef’s specials, we started with a Maggi Alfredo which was absolutely mouth- watering. Maggi Butter Chicken was drool worthy. Combine your two favourite things and the aroma of the flavours just fills the place up. Maggi Mexican Salsa with bell peppers is also worth trying. Maggi here is served in so many varieties that it becomes quite a task to choose which one to have.
Giving one a taste of the street food were the momos. We tried out the Potato and Chicken Momos. The Potato Momos are worth trying and were going well with both the dips. Among the drinks we had Lemon Mint Detox, a healthy soothing drink with less sugar and Strawberry Cold Coffee. The Strawberry Cold Coffee had cute little sugar balls bursting with colors. It is praiseworthy and is highly recommended.
Egg Bhasad could be your most liked dish if you are an egg lover. A very interesting dish with everything made from egg combined into one plateful. It has boiled eggs, anda bhurji, scrambled omelette and half fry eggs with crunchy butter toasts.
Highly affordable menu with quantity enough for two people. Eat it quick or you will have to share it. Let us know about your experience at the Bakar Cafe
