With his drooping moustache and knowledge of potions, Getafix the Druid brewed concoctions that made Asterix and Obelix the Roman churning machines they were. Same is the case with Getafix, a quirky little café located in the bustling GK1, M Block Market. With a myriad of colours dominating the décor along with some healthy options which taste pretty good, Getafix is your crossover between a Big Chill and a Lean Chef. Food which is attractive on the palate yet does not leave you counting calories the next day.
We start with a few selections from their range of juices and smoothies. Incorporating original natural flavours, the Granny Smith’s fix (INR 165) has a refreshing hit of ginger while the Kiwi Love (INR 225) impresses with a predominantly acidic yet spicy hit. The addition of oats and honey just add to the nutritional value. Their all day breakfast means Pancakes (INR 195) are never out of reach. Soft with the perfect texture, the twin of mixed berries and banana with honey go like a dream with honey with orange syrup, maple syrup and fruit compote.
A twist on the classics include an Air Fried Fish and Chips (INR 345) along with a Chicken Shawarma (INR 295). But the things that really stand out are the Quinoa Burger (INR 295) and the Shrimp pasta (INR 395). The crispy quinoa covers a sweet potato patty inside. A combination of sticky and crispy texture is a meets you on the palate while the pesto based Shrimp pasta sticks to the basics and nails it perfectly.
However, how long can the foodie inside you stay healthy? Order the Dessert platter for a selection of flavours that tingle your palate to no extent. The lime pie, the pumpkin cake and the carrot cake may just lift your mood on a miserable day.
A new quirky café that will definitely be inviting to the shoppers and college students alike. Let’s hope the flavours hold after the first 3 months at such competitive pricing.
