The debate over whether Maggi noodles are safe or not for consumption is not going to end anytime soon. Let’s face it, this ban has affected us all. For the first few days, I couldn’t think of anything delicious which can be prepared in “2-mins”(Let’s not get into that). And now that the Food Safety Regulator has asked Top Ramen to withdraw from the Indian Market, we have for you a list of ten snacks which can be prepared in no-time with limited ingredients and taste delicious too. Say goodbye to those hunger pangs now!

1. Frozen Food
McCain has been my mother’s savior every time those unexpected guests arrive. Let’s forget the calories and admit that they taste good. They came in various veg and non-veg options so there is something for everyone. All we need is a frying pan and some oil. Another successful brand is Venky’s offering a wide variety of options to choose from.

2.Instant Bhel Puri
Haldiram’s Bhel Puri is an excellent option every time you crave for some street food but don’t feel like going out. The shelf life is 4 months so don’t forget to buy a lot of packets the next time you go for grocery shopping. The quantity is good enough unless you are a foodie like me 😉

3.Oats
Saffola has launched Masala Oats which are no less than a blessing for me. They are delicious, healthy and can be prepared in no time. They come in flavors like Masala and coriander, Classic Masala, Pepper Spice and many others. 4. Eggs
Prepare them the way you like: Omelette, Scrambled, Poached, Sunny side-up or some other innovative style of your own. Eggs are super cheap and easy to prepare. You can have them for breakfast, lunch, dinner or snack time.

5.Poha
Flattened rice or Poha is a dehusked rice which is flattened into flat light dry flakes. Spice it up by adding the vegetables of your choice and don’t forget to add a lot of curry leaves and a hint of lemon juice for that amazing flavor.

6.Pizza-Bread
Throw your favorite veggies on a loaf of bread, add some ketchup or your favorite dressing. Put it on the pan or Griller and you are done. I love adding some malai/cheese on the top as per the availability. Try this and you can thank me later!

7.Instant Soups
They are light and are ready in no time. All we need is boiling water and a pack of our favorite soup. I love the variants offered by Knorr and Ching’s.

8.Upma
Upma is a famous South-Indian breakfast dish and tastes delicious. All you need is some Suji, water and your favorite vegetables. This takes around five minutes to prepare but is totally worth it. Don’t forget to add some green chilly to elevate the heat.

9.Salads:
Let’s face it, all of us love eating Salads at our favorite cafe or restaurant but avoid it when we are served the same at our dinner tables. Well, it is time to start eating the salad at home and you don’t have to worry about the calories. If you don’t like the plain salad then go ahead and experiment with the various dressings available in the market.

10.Fruits
Our entire childhood we had our mothers telling us the importance of eating fruits for a healthy body. Can mothers ever be wrong? Well, at least not in this case. Grab some fruits from the nearest vendor and don’t forget to thank your mother for the childhood nagging that didn’t go waste.
