Friday evening saw the launch of PVR Directors cut, vintage style Popcorn Bar. In collaboration with “Minus 30”, Popcorn Bar is a gourmet dessert counter with latest offering of sweet and savory popcorn and exotic range of ice cream flavors.

WHAT ALL DID I TRY!!
We were served a variety of exciting new flavors such as  Cheddar, Wasabi, Cajun & Cheese, Sour Cream & Onion flavors to name a few in the Savory range and in the Sweet range– Mocha Caramel, Belgian Chocolate and Fruit range of Mango, Orange & Watermelon. My favorite in the savory was the Cajun & Cheese and in the sweet Belgian chocolate. What I absolutely loved was the texture of the Popcorn and the fact that they taste even good when eaten at room temperature. Most of the time my struggle is finishing my tub of popcorn when its hot (:p as I personally don’t enjoy cold popcorn).

From the Minus 30, we were served classics like French Vanilla, Strawberry to tantalizing flavors such as Goat Cheese with Wild Berry Compote, Citrus Martini and Passion Fruit. My favorites were the Belgian chocolate & Cointreau and the citrus Martini. I absolutely love hard hitting & strong flavors, Belgian chocolate & Cointreau was spot on. Again what I loved about the Minus 30 were the textures of the ice cream. Really smooth and creamy, worked really well for me!

ABOUT THE EVENT!!
The launch kicked off with a blind tasting of Popcorn. We were asked to guess the flavors of the Popcorn with a blindfold on. Since the flavors and the ingredients used were so unique, it was actually quiet tough to guess the flavors. I was able to partially guess the flavors, so I won a small goody box (yay). Then we were supposed to make our own Sundaes with popcorn and gelatos. All the bloggers went simply crazy and it actually looked like a mini-masterchef marathon. Everyone were tasting the gelatos and mixing it with popcorn to see which combination work the best. In the end there were so many well-plated desserts garnished with herbs etc, which could give any good dessert parlor a run for its money.

All in all a fun evening, Chef told us they are soon launching a Wasabi popcorn flavor, really looking forward to trying that!
