PHILOSOPHY OF CONSCIOUS CAPITALISM

Both of them spoke about the book and its importance in the current day to day scenario. Mr Sisodia started by mentioning the ‘Conscious Capitalism’ philosophy and its benefits. It can help create value for all the stakeholders in a business and achieve much more than just profit. Speaking against the narrow perspective on business that is just profit making, they put up a question stating what businesses need in the current time. The current leadership crisis can be solved by the methods given by the ancient wisdom. All companies should become a part of the process of healing the world and not hurting it and they should also give back what they take. This process of doing multiple good generates good karma and in turn the business becomes a spectrum of positive effects.

BATTLE BETWEEN THE SEXES

Ms. Bhat stated that the message of the book is one that can help balance the lopsided way of leadership. Reaching into the ancient aspiritual and mythical teachings, the book revives a feminine archetype of leadership: generative, cooperative, creative and empathetic. She also showcases how men and women alike have been conditioned to value leadership qualities that emphasize ‘masculine’ behaviors and ‘win-at-all-cost’ attitudes. The delicate ancient balance has been disturbed by excessive focus on hyper masculinity. These hierarchical, individualistic and militaristic traits support corruption, environmental degradation, social breakdown, and a host of other serious problems.

SHAKTI

Ms. Bhat then talks about what Shakti is and what can it do. What is the importance of Shakti for any business.  Shakti is the power that drives everything. It is the reason for evolution and is the fuel for life. Shakti can also be called as a power of intelligence at work and leadership is the exercise of that power. Shakti helps us to utilize that power and reach at the top of the leadership pyramid. It is never ending. It is the source of inner power that is always available (whenever tapped). This power is not power over but is power with.

SHAKTI LEADS TO TRANSFORMATION

People have to balance between their polarity, i.e. the good and bad in them and also the feminine and masculine qualities. Ignoring one completely will lead to the negatives of excessiveness. One thing cannot go on forever just like a person cannot just keep inhaling without exhaling. Shakti helps to balance the polarity and achieve a harmony of the Yin and Yang and leverage the positives of any given situation. A person who practices Shakti Leadership becomes aware of the unending power source within and achieves wholeness, flexibility and congruence. “When leaders across sexes learn to embrace this mindset, we can restore sanity, elevate humanity, and heal the planet by evolving consciously together,” explains Ms. Bhat.
