Although the All American Diner been serving some delicious American grub over the ages, they also have started carrying the torch for another American cuisine albeit from the Central American neighbours of Mexico. I have been quite a big fan of Mexican food as it is quite close to the spicy Indian palate.
What we ate at the Mexican food festival?
Now understanding Mexican food is an enigma in itself. Although most of the dishes are made with a corn based tortilla, is the filling inside that sets them apart from each other. The taco can usually be a soft or hard shelled with a filling of meat and some cold vegetables. The enchilada on the other hand has cheese along with it being baked while the enchilada on the other hand is grilled. Most of these are served with sour cream and a salsa. The sour cream helps soothe the heat while the salsa adds a tangy element to the dish. The Guacamole adds another layer of flavours to the dishes.
The festival is also featuring some spicy, tangy mains which range from the toothsome sea bass to the ebullient lime chicken. Not only that, the cocktails pack quite a flavoursome punch, especially the cherry tequila combination. I end my meal with some scrumptious Mexican desserts. The five spiced caramel custard is redolent with cinnamon and so is the Mexican Banana split.
The Mexican Food Festival at The All American Diner, India Habitat Centre is going to take you back to the magnificent, earthy flavours of Mexico.
