Be it the scorching heat, tormenting rains, or cold and chilly breeze outside, this quick, simple, and healthy recipe is pleasing to the palate and the eyes!!

Presenting Apple cinnamon burgers. Yes, that’s right! Apple and cinnamon in a burger.

How comforting and quirky can it get?!

Ingredients:

  • Burger buns
  • Mayonnaise/ any dip of your choice
  • Brown bread crumbs
  • Chicken salami (optional)

For the patty:

  • Apples (grated)
  • Brown rice (cooked)
  • Oats (Masala/lemon oats would do-uncooked)
  • Onion (finely chopped)
  • Capsicum (finely chopped)
  • Cucumber (finely chopped )
  • Cinnamon powder
  • Salt
  • Ginger, garlic, green chilies (finely chopped)

For toppings:

  • Tomato (horizontally sliced)
  • Cucumber (thin, long slice)
  • Iceberg lettuce (optional)
  • Whole olives (or coffee flavored chocolate beans)

Procedure:

  1. Combine all the patty ingredients together until they start binding.
  2. Make patties of the same and roll them in brown bread crumbs.
  3. In a skillet, shallow fry the patties (you can bake them in oven too).
  4. Toast the burger buns.

Putting the burger together:

  1. On your platter, put the lower part of your lightly toasted bun and spread mayo or your favorite dip.
  2. Place iceberg lettuce (optional), and top it with your healthy patty, then a slice of salami (optional).
  3. Then place two tomato slices, position the thin cucumber slice to look like a tongue.
  4. Close it with partly sliding burger bun, and finish by placing two olives (or coffee flavored chocolate beans in this case, for the extra weird yet tasty factor and crunch) in a way that they look like eyes!!

Voila, you have a funky faced junk food, which is healthy and a perfect snack for parties, late night hunger pangs or just to feel pampered.!

Happy eating!!
