National Day of Spain celebrations in Delhi at the Spanish Embassy was sponsored by Mahou India and it was such a lovely event. The event saw cheese buffeet, paella counter, live pasta counters, full marching band performance etc. The reception was hosted by H. E. Ambassador, José Ramón Barañano on Thursday, October 12th  and ended in high spirits. The event was co-sponsored by Mahou India along with other major Spanish brands like La Liga among the others.

The ceremony was kicked off with a speech by Spanish H.E. Ambassador José Ramón Barañano and was graced by numerous VIPs including Chef Shipra Khanna, winner of MasterChef India 2 (2012) and the Culinary Ambassador of Spain. Spanish band Feten Feten’s live musical performance, gave the attendants a taste of music inspired by the roots and traditions of the country. However, this was not the only taste worth relishing as an international buffet served an assortment of authentic Spanish delicacies accompanied by a large selection of Spanish wine and Mahou Cervezas ( beer ) .

On the occasion, Fernando Bustamante, CEO, Mahou India said, “It gives me a great sense of pride to be a part of these celebrations and to witness the ‘Cañas & Tapas’ (snacks and beer) of Spain delighting the esteemed guests. In Spain, beer is served in small glasses called as Cañas which is enjoyed along with tapas i.e. snacks. It is our endeavor to bring the Spanish culture to India where beer isn’t just about consuming, but savoring it and we are sure to make it bigger in the times to come.”

My taste experience with Mahou India

Mahou is a SpanishBeer. In Spain the beer is not served in individual beer cans or bottles. Spain believes in the ritual of sharing and one bottle is opened which is then poured into shot glasses for all the guests. Mahou India is trying to relive that tradition by entering the Indian Market

I tried the red beer can and it was really smooth. The red one is a little more bitter than the green one. The green variant of mahou is a little sweeter and is generally more popular with the indian Audience. I absolutely enjoyed the aftertaste of the beer. !!
