You Only Live Once, but if you do it right, once is enough – Mae West
The above quote finds its place on a wall at YOLO 21 and it puts a positive and different perspective to YOLO than what is commonly found over the internet these days. There are pictures of famous and successful people from the field of business, like Warren Buffet and Mark Zuckerberg, entertainment like Amitabh Bachchan and Audrey Hepburn, and many more, that adds to its meaning. The owner, Mr. Sukreet, and his brand really stand for the name and the quote. They are everything right, read on to know how.
YOLO 21 is a little cafe located on Hudson Lane, GTB Nagar, near North Campus, University of Delhi. The location has been taken into consideration, hence prices are student friendly, i.e., light on the pocket. The ambiance is simple and pleasing. The service is great. The staff is very intuitive towards the needs of the customers. Mr. Sukreet personally goes to each and every table to ask the customers about their experience. We were confused about what to order, he helped us narrow on our dishes according to our preferences.
The menu of YOLO 21 is cut out in the shape of the words “YOLO” and it’s quite interesting to see. The outlet is focused on food which is popular among the college kids, yet their clientele is from all ages groups. The cuisines served here are Italian and Continental.
We started our food experience with some awesome drinks. Chunkey Munkey shake is a must try! It is total indulgence with such balanced flavours and sweetness. It has chocolate, banana, coffee, and choco chips. If you like the banana-chocolate combination, you just can not stop at one sip. Peach Iced Tea is very balanced in terms of sweetness and is super refreshing.
Nachos are such student staples these days, so we ordered Signature Nachos with Salsa and Sour cream (Veg). The melted cheese, the crunchy tortilla chips, and the yummy sauteed veggies taste great. Along with that we opted for Chicken Strips with Cocktail Dip (obviously Non-veg). The chicken strips are crisp on the outside and tender and juicy inside.
We opted for half and half Cottage Cheese Delight Pizza (Veg) and The YOLO21 Pizza (Non-veg). Both the pizzas have thin and crisp crust and are loaded with cheese. Cottage Cheese Delight has very simple yet flavourful toppings. It has onion, capsicum, tomato, and cottage cheese. The YOLO21 Pizza is even better. It has the combination Peri-Peri Chicken and Barbeque Chicken, with Olives, Onion, Capsicum, and Tomato. The Peri-Peri Sauce is made in-house and is delightful.
Very rarely do you ever witness a place in campus confidently offering you more than ‘red sauce’ pasta, ‘white sauce’ pasta, or ‘mixed sauce’ pasta. And YOLO 21 is one of those rare places. I was pleasantly surprised and jumped at the chance when I was offered Spaghetti Pesto (Veg), and have no regrets. The pasta is very flavourful. It is served with a garlic bread. Grilled Fish with Lemon and Butter Sauce Sizzler (Non-Veg) has really good portions, is well-cooked, and tastes delectable. It is served with veggies, mashed potato, and rice. The sizzlers are a specialty.
We ended the meal with scrumptious Banoffee Pie. It tastes divine. It vanished off our plates within a minute of arriving. The visit started on a high note and ended on a higher note. The outlet is worth visiting again and again because of the great tasting food and decent prices.
