One of London’s premier Michelin starred restaurant, Yauatcha launches its new menu in the heart of the country. Located in the posh locality of the Vasant Kunj, this Modern chic restaurant is trying its best to match upto the lofty standards set by the London outlet. Yauatcha’s signature has always been a contemporary twist to the Cantonese cuisine with a huge focus on their Dim Sums. These small packets of flavourful explosion will thoroughly leave you content. Yauatcha has been slowly but steadily trying to shift towards a much more casual dining place where you can sit for tea and dimsums in between your sessions of retail therapy. A more of a Chinese café feel rather than the traditional fine dine restaurant. The restaurant has been spruced up since our last visit with changes in the kitchen and the seating make it much more compact.
The new menu offers over 10 varieties of dim sum. Each dim sum offered in this menu is from different region, but their basic origin is from China. All these dim sum are modern interpretations of classical dim sum either in respect to the ingredients used or the technique involved in making them. The menu features Pork & Prawn Shumai, Asparagus, Pumpkin & Corn Roll, Lotus Leaf wrapped Chicken, Vegetarian Chicken Charsui Bun and Black Pepper Lamb Roll amongst others. We recommend the Chive with Prawns which brings an explosion of fresh watery flavours on the tongue and the Vegetarian Chicken Char Sui Bun. A sweet, soft dough encasing soya with the flavour and texture of chicken. The sweet taste of caramelisation is wonderful as you marvel upon this creation.
The wok section also has some very appetizing choices to make. Our recommendations include the Lobster in Spicy XO sauce along with a rack of pork ribs. The rice & noodle category doesn’t lack behind. A new introduction has been made for both vegetarian & non-vegetarian lovers. Spicy hand pulled noodles is available in Chicken & Vegetarian option with the popular favourites such as Emperor Fried Rice with Prawns & Scallops & Chicken Fried Rice in XO Sauce.
The dessert menu of Yauatcha has always impressed and it continues the tradition this time. Dessert lovers can treat themselves to the creamy Coffee Hazelnut Pave, Mandarin Macadamia Cake & Peach Melba that make very interesting introductions to the dessert menu. The perfect balance of sweet and acidity with the creamy soft texture will start ringing in bells of satisfaction. This tastefully set refreshed menu is a great blend of modernity with tradition and appetizing to tongues & is sure to please the taste buds of food lovers.
