Kolkata winters do not really pose a challenge to Delhiites. But sizzling hot grills are a thing that even the mild Kolkata winters cannot stop us from enjoying. The winter grills menu on the lawns of ITC Sonar are perfect way to bring in some warmth this winter season.
Read here about the beautiful lawns of ITC Sonar.
With an unmatched ambience and fresh produce hissing and spitting, it is the place to be. I have written about the beautiful water gardens of the Sonar in my earlier article, but the nights are a totally new sight to the eyes. The quite waters, the violins in the background with the lights on the grills are something that you must try out.
The grills are divided into three sections while the menu is an extension of the buffet at Eden Pavilion. Other than the grills, there is a varied selection of antipasti, mains and desserts. There were three dishes that did it for me among the grills and this is exactly the reason you should try it out too.
Indian
Gulabi Seekh Kebab: Seekh Kebab is a familiar feature in my family’s dinner. But the succulent Seekh Kebab with a hint of rose flavour is just the dose of royalty you need.
Middle East
The advent of middle eastern food from the gulf has brought the Shwarma to India. Although similar to the rolls of your country, the Shwarma draws its differences from the creamy aioli and tangy flavours. The freshly roasted meat also adds a load of dripping juices to the mix. The Shwarma at the grills of ITC Sonar is as authentic as it can get.

Western
Although the western section of the grills features some of my favorites, the Tenderloin takes top place hands down. My style is medium rare and that’s what it came out to be. Juices dripping, the Tenderloin with some grilled vegetables is a dream meal for all meat lovers.
The winter grills menu is available for INR 2499++. Add another INR 1499++ for unlimited amounts of Glenlivet 10yr. Premium single malt with loads of meat, this is heaven on planet Earth.
