Zeynep Hotel, Antalya
Antalya is one of the favoured Beach destinations in the Mediterranean. With temperatures that pretty much stay temperate through the year(it gets super hot in the months of June and July), Antalya serves up as one place where you can go swimming and skiing at the same time. Along with the beaches, Antalya also offers a chance to explore some Roman ruins at Perge and Aspendos. But the main reason you should be heading to Antalya is to kick back and relax.
With Antalya being host to so many options and ways to relax, my hotel in Antalya, Zeynep also offers amenities which support your trip quite a bit. The hotel’s all inclusive package offers you access to the Minibar, the main Bar in the Lobby and any number of visits to the Dining Room whenever you are hungry. Although the hotel has few other buildings on the property including the Beach Resort, you can pretty much access any of the eating joints inside the hotel.
The hotel’s Beach Resort opens up onto the Beach where you can spend a lazy day in the Sun without doing anything else. You might also plan on sweating a bit on the Golf Course and the Tennis courts before taking a jump into the inviting pool.
I quite enjoyed the food at Zeynep. In the mornings, I found a good collection of typical Turkish Cheese and Olives along with some really tangy Sausages that I dove into along with a side of Scrambled Eggs. For the dinners, I found some Veal Cheeks one day and some lovely Meatballs the other along with loads of servings of Baklava for dinner. At the Bar, I tried out the Raki, a Turkish local alcohol made out of Aniseed(Saunf).
Yunak Evleri, Cappadocia
The next hotel that we headed out to was at Cappadocia. With Cappadocia being host to many caves, our hotel Yunak Evleri was one of the perfect locations that we stayed at. Housed in a section of hills that are found all over the area, the hotel actually takes route to the cave dwellings. The actual rooms are all old cave rooms which have been converted into a modern hotel along with all the amenities.
The rooms inside have sloping roofs and walls made out of stone which are quite interesting to look at. The bathroom, on the other hand, is super luxurious as it features a Jacuzzi Tub along with a range of bath care products. As my room was located on the topmost floor, I had quite a view of the hotel below while having my cup of morning Turkish Tea. The Breakfast Hall features a scrumptious Turkish spread that you must try out.
Hilton Bosphorus, Istanbul
As Istanbul was the last leg of our journey, our hotel the Hilton Bosphorus was conveniently located on the banks of the majestic river. With an attached Balcony where I could smoke, I found a Bird eye view of the city along with the Bosphorus lightening up in the background. The hotel is one of the most luxurious ones on our trip and it featured an Indian restaurant to go along with everything else.
I quite enjoyed the food at their Indian restaurant DUBB which is present on the top floor of the hotel and offers quite a majestic view of the city below. I try out some of their quintessential dishes including the Seekh Kebabs along with a Butter Chicken, the flavours of which were quite close to authentic. The breakfast spread at the hotel is also quite elaborate, as I find a number of breads along with Cheeses of every kind along with Olives and Yoghurt of three types. I also found myself glasses of Lemonade that quenched my thirst before I started my meal.
