Nestled in the bustling market of GK-2, M block market, lies a superhero and comic theme restaurant called ” What A Comic Show”. The flagship outlet of the restaurant is at famous SDA Market near IIT Delhi. The restaurant owners Bhupen and Pooja, perhaps driven by nostalgia of Indian and international comics, came up with a comic themed restaurant. Theme of the restaurant makes it very vibrant. one can witness the Captain America’s Shield which is hanging in front of the Bar while one could see innumerable graphic novels and comic books all around the place. What A Comic Show is known for serving continental and oriental cuisine to their patrons and the GK-2 outlet having a bigger kitchen, has allowed them to add Pizzas and some more dishes to their menu in comparison to the SDA outlet.
Food Talks at What A Comic Show
We started our meal with Chicken Shabhalay which is also known as Tibetian burger. It was crispy and the filling of juicy chicken added more stars to this dish. Following it were the Dimsums, which stands as a specialty out here from the regular menu. Next on my plate was the assorted sushi platter. The aroma and taste of the dish was excellent but the texture was a spoiler being too sticky and making dish a bit messy to eat. Later, we were explained that their are different varieties of sticky rice and their take is to represent that way it is done is North- Eastern part of India.
We tried the assorted Bruschetta platter. Three distinct flavours on crispy bread with a dash of cheese made it as a highlight of our meal. For the mains, we tried Chicken Stroganoff, Penne Chicken and Mushrooms and Some BLT Sandwiches. Chicken Stroganoff is again a classic but if executed well, “Phir order karna toh banta hain na boss”. Creamy chicken and mushroom served with rice. The portion size is quiet huge and could easily serve 2 people. Penne white sauce pasta had an adequate amount of cheese with generous quantity of mushrooms in it. The pasta was cooked to perfection, making it worth a try.
We ended our meal on a sweet note with their Chocolate Ice cream full of chocolate chips.
