Yes you read it right! We got a chance to paint a Merc at the JW Marriot , Aerocity Art Brunch. JW Marriot is known for curating events which are beyond ordinary and when they decided to pair up with Jyotiee
Balani, I was expecting nothing less than perfection. Jyotiee Balani is a food writer and wine enthusiast.
Painting the Merc at JW Marriot
Its always inspiring seeing an artist at work and when the canvas in itself is so unique, the whole act becomes even more interesting. Renowned artist Jai ‘Zaiu’ Ranjit created his magic live on Mercedes-Benz C-Class. When I saw him at work, like a small excited child I said, “I want to paint too!” Zaiu instantly handed me a brush, an easel and I began to paint.
The whole idea of painting a Merc is so unique and exciting. I thoroughly enjoyed painting it. A lot of guests made their artistic contributions on the car. Zaiu in his own unique style, made such a beautiful final piece with all the small artworks. It seemed as if everything was planned. Loved seeing the complete transformation.
Cake Mixing
This was my first time cake mixing and I really didn’t know why it happened? The chef explained that the final cake mixture will be kept for around eight weeks and left to ferment until just before Christmas time. Closer to Christmas time, guests will be able to enjoy this cake mix, in form of sweet and sticky fruit cakes.
So a total of 100 kilos colorful ingredients were kept in a huge container. It had fruits, raisins, glazed red cherries, orange peel, dates, nuts and spices. We mixed all the ingredients with variety of liquors. A whooping total of 25 bottles of liquor were poured in the mix.
I thoroughly enjoyed the whole session. By the end of the session, we were all smelling of alcohol and the fragrance was intoxicating. I am waiting for my share of fruit cakes now!
