South India offers up a complexity of tastes. But the Northern part of the country has mostly been denied the delectable and fiery taste of South India. We present to you a guide on the best 5 places to have South Indian in Delhi
1. Andhra Bhavan
You can locate all sorts of bhavans in Delhi. Every state has it’s own uniqueness and offers the best food that the state has. I have been to Andhra Bhawan a couple of times just for casual outing with friends over wholesome filling food
I realised that many people still don’t know about this gem.So this place deserve a status at the very top of the list.
Value for money – Perhaps the only one place where you get more value than what you pay for.
Food – Their USP. This place is all about food – food and good food . Do try the unlimited thali and Mutton curry.
Ambience – Who cares? Really! It’s a kitchen canteen so don’t expect anything more than excellent service and lip smacking food.
At 100/- rs the unlimited thali is a steal. It gives you full value for money. If you visit at lunch time ,try to reach there before 12.30 as it gets very crowded.
The Hyderabadi Biryani which is one of their best sellers is available only on Sunday.
2. Karnataka Food Centre
K.F.C is quite popular among the students of South Campus as well as the residents of RK Puram. One of the best places to have south Indian food in Delhi without having a big hole in your pockets. Located right next to Moti Bagh flyover it wears the look of a typical South Indian restaurant and has a spacious dinning facility as well.
Food – Maharaja Sajjige Dosa , Tiffin Thali ( assorted selected snacks)
Ambience – A perfect place to enjoy South Indian Food with a tranquil family atmosphere.
Pricing – As for the prices, they are dirt cheap. Average cost for 4 would not be more than 600 RS.
Overall- I have never had such fresh , hot , well seasoned and balanced flavours. The place never fails to impress. I will recommend the same for only a food outing with family and friends but not to sit around leisure to work or to kill some time and a big no no if on a date .
3. Sarvana Bhavan
I have seen this restaurant grow more popular over the years. Sarvana Bhavan promises something quite basic delivers it to near perfection. Their best bets are the Veg thali and Veg snacks Thali. The veg thali consists of Pudi , pickle, dal , varieties of sabzi , rice curd rasam halwa and varieties of other lip smacking and luscious south Indian dishes.
The snacks thali has masala idli ,mini dosa pongal and variety of tasty chutneys. They also sell a variety of south indian snacks and namkeens .The staff is polite and helpful and place provides a perfect family ambience.
