From the climax running after the train in a lehnga to Senorita, bade bade desho mein aisi baatyn hoti rehti hai…this movie surely was a trend setter.
SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE
Slumdog millionaire is one of the best films co-directed in India by Lovelee Tandon and produced by Christian Colson.This movie showed all the filth and dirt of Indian slums and how children are forced to leave their childhood and engaged in begging, prostitution etc. One of such boys enter a competition ‘ Who wants to be a millionaire’ , although he is a slum boy,he was able to answer every question at every stage and he was accused of cheating. The movie’s background score was given by the best A.R. Rehman who won several awards for it, including the academy award and made India proud.
Lagaan
Lagaan has a backdrop of the colonial era, where they charged heavy taxes (LAGAAN) from the poor farmers and exploited them in every way, to resolve this fight they play a cricket match between the farmers and the Britishers.This movie received a good reaction from the public and as well the critics and won several awards, it was additionally voted in the main five movies for the Oscars. The film failed to win an academy award because of the long length of the film, but who cares it won a million of hearts.
