There’s a new Depot in town and we are totally in love with it. After the stellar success of Ritu Dalmia’s American and Mexican food at Depot 29, Depot 48 now opens in GK1, N Block Market and the food is giving us serious gushes. Built across a single floor, Depot 48 retains the new world casual chic decor of its predecessor. The weekly performances though, take place on Saturday instead of Friday and Sunday. The Drinks
Let’s get a bit tipsy with the cocktails first. The Monicatini (Vikas’ sister Monica came up with this drink) still rocks you back with the chili flavor. The Jack Barrel incorporates the Jim Beam whiskey with vanilla and coconut along with a dash of bitters. The Summer Cooler is a zing of flavours on your palate. Gin and Elderflower combined with the freshness of cucumber, mint, celery and lime juice. Ginger, Lemongrass and Gin acts as a perfect drink on this warm summer’s day.
The Starters
A Chicken wings with a sweet, sticky spicy rub that combines with the bitter blue cheese dip. We take a pulled pork Quesadilla with refried beans and Jack cheese which explodes with flavours all over the palate. The Shredded Duck Taco leaves a plethora of different shades of sweet flavours which range from a green apple chutney to caramelised onions.
The Mains and Desserts
The burgers are so good that they deserve a post of their own. Do try out the Panko crumbed chicken Schnitzel with a spicy tomato sauce. The Sriracha pasta is a hit of sweet and heat in a creamy mix of pasta. Let’s end with the delectable range of desserts again. The waffles as usual lights up any gloomy day while the whisky mud cake is a delight to the senses with the boozy, rich chocolate flavours making love on your palate. Do try out this new place and let us know about your favourites.
