Chef Tan Dequan, the dimsum chef at The China Kitchen presents a fascinating array of exquisitely crafted dimsums which will be a part of the Ala Carte menu of the restaurant on permanent basis. The range which comprises of 15 varieties of dimsums is prepared with utmost authenticity as the ingredients are specially flown from the country and dependence on the local ingredients is minimal. The menu is designed to suit all palates as the range includes, vegetarian, sea food, chicken and lamb which are boiled, steamed, pan fried and deep fried in cooking style.
The vegetarian selection includes, Dark green mushroom fungus dumpling (boiled), Crystal triangle dumpling ( steamed), Cheese glutinous rice ball(fried), Broccoli vegetable dumpling (steamed), Chinese caterpillar fungus dumpling (boiled), Green vegetable dumpling (steam). The best one being the Veg Lotus root, puff dumpling which had a beautiful golden covered flaky puff with a filling of lotus, red and green capsicum.
From the non vegetarian section the range includes, Fresh seafood seaweed dumpling( steamed) , Glutinous rice lamb dumpling(pan fried), Chicken bao dumpling(pan fried), Chicken dumpling in black pepper sauce(steamed), Seafood Crispy celery dumpling( steamed), Crab celery shrimp dumpling (steamed), P Xiao long bao (steamed). Our favorite from the menu which we tried was The pan fried Chicken Bao Dumpling, with chicken and spring onion stuffing. We finished off with a delicious Coconut spring roll with mango ice cream which pampered our sweet tooth.
