Located in the heart of the New Delhi, Taj Diplomatic is one of the oldest 5 star properties of India and over the years it has been an epitome of the warm hospitality of the country. Over the years it has maintained the highest standards of F&B and accommodation, and has build up a reputation to deliver a world class service to its patrons from all across the globe. The hotel also lobbies some great restaurants like The Masala Art, The Orient Express, The Blue Bar and the Tea Lounge. Last year they rejuvenated their coffee shop, Kafé Fontana to a classy and elegant all day diner called The Capital Kitchen.
Starting 10th November, the restaurant held a 3 day culinary feast to commemorate the 1 st anniversary of the Capital Kitchen and honestly it was world cuisine at its best. The variety was enormous and the buffet spread could not get more lavish than that. The food spread was a concoction of some of the signature dishes from The Taj properties and some great cuisines from across the globe. There was a variety of street food offerings coming from the nice live counters set up on the pool side. As it was a bright and sunny day, the garden area was given a pleasant picnic setting with a mocktail bar called The Batliwala. A nice display of cold cuts from the charcuterie and fresh salad bar were the highlights from the buffet. On the day a great spread of oriental and Italian was laid and no prizes for guessing the spread was super delectable. The North Indian section had some robust and flavorful specialties like Butter Chicken, Dal Makhani, and Sarson ka saag served with piping hot assorted Indian breads straight from the Tandoor. The Dessert counter was one thing which would pull any sweet lover back to the all day diner. Some insanely sinful cakes, mousses, rasgullas, laddoos were offered in the buffet to satiate those sweet cravings and made the whole experience complete. The best part is despite the beautiful presentation of the buffet, the kitchen team has not deviated from delivering a delicious food experience. The focus does remain on the basics of food production.
The Capital Kitchen at the Taj Diplomatic enclave is a perfect getaway for a weekend brunch, a lunch or a dinner buffet and offers the best of global dishes. Do visit the venue to enjoy a confluence of cuisines in a very fresh and vibrant setting.
