One of the world’s greatest medium to connect people is Movies and Food and what if I tell you that I have just witnessed a place which is a perfect amalgamation of both. When I got to know that Lights Camera Action Air Bar is being set up in Rajouri garden I was bit anxious to know whether West Delhi is ready to enjoy this lip smacking Cocktail of Molecular Gastronomy with Bollywood Touch. Yes sir I got my answer the crowd is loving it and the place is jam packed even on a weekday afternoon when scorching heat of sun is not letting you do anything but just sit in front of your air conditioners. The crowd knows their way to Lights Camera Action.
Lights Camera Action is located on third floor in always busy B.K Dutta Market of Rajouri Garden. As soon as you enter you’re greeted by a big replica of Iron Man with movie posters on a side guiding your way to the lift. The terrace which is also the Air Bar is gigantic and can easily cater an evening of 200+ pax. The indoor seating though not that large but still very spacious and caters 70-80 Pax. The sitting is really very comfortable and high chairs with tripod stand styled tables.
Food Talks
The food menu is really vast and quite interesting with the names of the dishes dedicated to bollywood dialogues and Bollywood Movies. Manned by a very professional staff wearing Bollywood T-shirts with LCA written on it , They possess a vast knowledge about they serve. They manage to impress everyone from foodies to critics.
The Journey started with their complementary Banarsi Lassi Sphere which according to me is a magnificent opening to such a food journey lassi spherified and just need to burst the bubble and take the shot which lets the flavours flow over you. Another complementary dish to the patrons is the flavoured popcorn which just replaced he bread basket in LCA as we all know popcorn is an integral part of a movie.
Rajinikant’s Early Morning Tea – Which is basically Soup or Rasam deconstructed into a chai. Prepared in front of you the curry leaf’s replaces the tea leaves and coconut powder act as the whitener. Stir it to combine and witness authenticity and creativity in a single glass. The next to follow was Chammak Challo a very refreshing Orange leafy salad which is just a perfect start considering the weather these days.
Hollywood Nitrogen Papdi Dhokla Chat – This papdi dhokla chaat consisted of yoghurt & pieces of dhokla frozen at -176 degrees using liquid nitrogen, further it is amalgamated with papdi, palak patta, three kinds of chutneys and spices which creates an unforgettable experience right in front of your eyes.
Next to follow was the vegetarian Chicken tikka which resembles just like your tandoori chicken tikka and even my co -blogger was also tricked when the LCA staff played a prank on her by telling her that she consumed a chicken tikka instead of soya chaap grilled in tandoor. Main highlight of the day for me is still the Veg Quesadillas which they call ” Pyaar tune Quesadillas” is an excellent fusion of mexician quesadillas with kolapuri spices.
The Journey ended on the same high note as it started with their veg Naanza which is a desi version of Pizza. A perfect crust, bursting flavours and generous amount of topping . This is an ideal pizza for me.The Social shake which is served in ceramic glasses resembles the same glasses we get in a movie theater when ordered aerated drinks. The Facebook and Whatsapp logo in it is quite attractive.
In a nutshell 4.5/5 to Lights Camera Action Air Bar, This brainchild of Restauranters Varun Puri , Vivek Bhargava and Dinesh Arora is the latest buzzspot in town.It captures your heart with some eternal food , great hospitality and swanky ambiance.
