Organic food is making all the right noises in today’s world and The Park Hotel‘s Sunday Organic Market is the perfect place to get your ingredients for a completely organic meal. Just like the farmer’s market which are famous all over Europe and America, having a similar one in India is also very encouraging. The market takes place every Sunday at The Park Hotel, New Delhi and allows you not only to sample the best of fresh fruits and vegetables but also a slew of other products that you can take back home.
What all we tried out at the Sunday Organic Farmer’s Market?
The best of vegetables that you can find here are from the Tijara Organic Farm. But what enthralled me the most was the teas from Anandini Himalayan Tea. Anamika Singh’s tea is known all over the country now being found in gourmet stores and 5 Star Hotels. Her green teas are really flavourful and I even tried out a Pineapple Jam with a hint of Earl Grey tea. I also tried out some organic flavoured honey from Golden Hive. The amazing flavours that I was able to try out were Wild Thyme and Coriander.
I was also introduced to the concept of the Buddha Bowl from the C Green Organic Future Foods which combines the healthy ingredients of a grain, a green and a bean in a super healthy combo. I had some spinach, kidney beans on my plate along with a delightful apple cider dressing and a cashew cheese dip made with sundried tomatoes and some sesame seeds and shredded carrot spread over it. Not only that, I also got to try out some organic pizzas from The Park’s kitchen. A classic Margharita on a Ragi base along with a goat cheese and some roasted onions were some of the most tastiest pizzas I have had in some time.
