Recently, I went out shopping, and to be more specific, shoe shopping. So, I spend 3 hours going from store to store searching for that perfect pair which would suit my budget as well as requirement. What I bought, what I didn’t, and what I couldn’t is an altogether different story. It is no longer about ‘closed’ shoes and ‘open’ sandals, there is much more to the flat shoes! We brought you the fashion trends for dresses this year in our previous article, while this article will comprise of what shoes you can combine with the dresses.
- Sneakers
Sneakers are in big time. From luxury brands like Dior, to online shopping, to street shops, you can find them everywhere. Solid colours, geometrical patterns, floral prints, cartoons, cut outs, to studs, there is so much variety to choose from! Nike shoes has an immense range which will surely let you find the right one.
- Loafers
Loafers were a rage a couple of years ago. And, they are back again! This time in a more formal avatar than those round-toed suede ones. This time, we have the pointed-toe leather ones. The colour palette is neutral. And, they are gorgeous.
- Espadrille
Espadrille is a shoe that I remember from my childhood. And, boy, do I love those! They look so cool and casual. They are the perfect footwear for casual outings. You can find these in converse as well as other materials like lace, etc. And the print variety is as good as sneakers.
- Lace-up Gladiators
Lace-up gladiators come in different lengths. There are some that are ankle length, there are some that reach as high as the calf. These look great with casual dresses. This style is more visible online than offline.
- Oxfords
The oxfords are one of my all-time favourites. They look ultra-chic. They look great in almost all neutral shades, the different shades of brown look specially amazing.
- Flatforms
Flatform soles are like the new in thing. They are the flat version of platform heels. They are like this two inch flat sole under the shoes. You can find sandals, sneakers, and espadrille in this type of sole. So, if you need some vertical boost without bending your feet at odd angles, these are the shoes for you!
- Metallic shoes
Gold, silver, and bronze are colours associated with winners and can be used to create a winning look. If you are not very sure if you can carry off shoes in these colours, opt for sandals. Some styles have these single strap in a metallic colour and the rest of the sandal is in a neutral shade.
- Thick straps and Ankle straps
If you are bored of dainty sandals, try sandals with chunky straps, they really in. So, are ankle straps in sandals as well as ballerinas. In case, you want to stick to the basic sandals and ballerinas, go for the ones with ankle straps.
