We book yourself in for one of their most invigorating massage therapies, The Swedish Massage Therapy. The common changing area which houses the steam and sauna along with the whole spa are done up in shades of pink and violet. My therapist Lucy guides me to my therapy room which again throws up a surprise is being big and airy with some amount of natural light filtering through.
What we tried?
The Swedish massage opens with a traditional foot ritual, an ancient tradition symbolizing a purifying of the soul. The foot ritual opens up the positive energy channel. Another point of difference is that the foot ritual which incorporates a foot massage. This particular massage starts your rejuvenation instantly. This is followed by a 60 minute session of massage to loosen tightened up muscles and eke out sore nerves. Swedish massage is a light to moderate pressure massage consisting of long and circular gliding strokes. These strokes are in the direction of blood returning to the heart.
Choose your essential oils from a selection of Eucalyptus, Rosemary and Jasmine. Long strokes are used to spread out the contracted muscles. Finish off the treatment with few minutes in the steam room to sweat out your toxins. Follow it up with a shower to feel all prim and content. Take a Chill Shower to close all the pores and lock in your moisture.
Although coming down to East Delhi is a still a pain, but the Shanaya Spa with all it’s facilities and a delectable meal at Dilli 32 make it worthwhile.
