I have been traveling for quite a long time now. The added advantage of being a travel blogger and dating a travel photographer is that I’m always planning my next trip. One of the most essential part of planning any trips is the problem of carrying cash. Be it traveling to international or domestic destinations, I have somehow always miscalculated my needs. Debit cards have been my need of the hour but I lost mine in Goa and spent quite a few nervous hours before deactivating the card. I was searching for a much more simpler option when I came across Samsung Pay.
How to use the app?
Samsung Pay can be used to make purchases almost everywhere. I can swipe or tap your debit or credit card to make payments. Apart from allowing users in India to simply tap and pay on the go using their registered cards, Samsung Pay has integrated Paytm as well as the government’s Unified Payments Interface into the app. Samsung has also created a unique digital payment ecosystem by partnering with a number of issuers and card networks.
Why use this app?
Samsung Pay is a highly secure platform as it works with three levels of security—fingerprint authentication, card tokenization and Samsung’s defense-grade mobile security platform Samsung KNOX. To the app, a user needs to swipe up on an eligible Samsung Galaxy smartphone. I then have to select the card and authenticate using a fingerprint or PIN. The last step is to bring the phone near the Point of Sale terminal.
The simplicity of this app along with the security features makes it my go to app whenever I am travelling. I hope that they can also allow for international transactions on their interface. My international travel FAMs will be so much more interesting.
