Since 2014, we have seen a sudden change in the food scene of West Delhi. Overcoming the Cliché of typical Punjabi family restaurants serving North Indian cuisine and boosting their menu with Butter chicken and Dal Makhani. A variety of Cafes and outlets of famous restaurants have chosen West Delhi as their new market and they are serving authentic world cuisine to their patrons and such ideas are received well by the crowd.
The youngest of them all is “The Crude House cafe”in Tagore Garden. The Cafe launched recently on December 13th and as the name suggests “crude” the ambience is raw & quite artistic. Every nook & corner is designed with passion & creativity. The wall full of oil pressure gauges, petrol hose water dispenser, bar roof, interesting placement of black bicycles making the ambience a vision to vouch for . The cafe has classic red chairs with black, brown, white & red setting the tone in place.

Food Talks

Our team was invited to try out the scrumptious food served by this newly opened cafe. A special curated menu was prepared by their chef which had a bouquet of their signature and popular dishes handpicked from the main menu.image

We started with Mushroom and cream soup (₹120). We loved the intensely earthy flavours in this smooth cream of mushroom soup. The secret to it is a long slow caramelisation. This is the pure essence of mushroom.Next in line is the chicken Quesadilla(₹255). quesadilla was cooked to perfection.Tortilla had ideal texture of outer crunch and soft inner part filled with vegetables and shredded cheese then folded and tossed.Desi Pizza (₹275) is their take on pizza and an attempt to make a fusion dish by complimenting tandoori roti as a base to the pizza. The idea is new and the ability to get the same thin crust is commendable.Next to follow was Fish and Chips (₹295).Authentic British fish and chips consisted of a high-quality flaky white fish (basa) deep-fried in a thin, crispy batter served on a bed of potato fries along with tartar dip.
Grill fish lemon butter sauce(₹375) is a basa which is grilled to perfection and then sautéed with butter and lemon juice and mixed into it is a combination of different herbs and spices making the dish an ideal main course and the major highlight of our too.
We ended our meal on a sweet note with their Banoffee pie a dessert crowned with layers of whipped cream in jar. It had a biscuit crum base and lot of chopped bananas in it.

In a nutshell, We are glad that Tagore Garden finally has a place with a combination of chic ambience, cool decor and lip smacking food. The cafe also organises a special Saturday night with bands creating magic on stage. With the perfect combination of mouth watering food, dynamic drinks, mesmerising music
