Although Delhi has been burgeoning under the weight of new eateries opening every other day, the Trans Yamuna side has sadly been left behind. Hotels like Park Inn are slowly but steadily correcting that with some tip top service and some mouth-watering delicacies from the kitchen. Set in stark colours of red, black and white, their grill and bar RBG is a visual treat. A classic all day dining menu with components of both European and Indian cuisine at rates which don’t burn a hole in the pocket.

We start off with two of their starters. The Garlic Prawns (INR 495) consists of regular frozen prawns cooked in a delectable sauce of paprika and white wine. Accompanied by a salad, the creamy buttery sauce imparts a texture that sits marvellously with the prawns. Next in line is the Amritsari Machchi (INR 475). Crumbed and batter coated fish fried to perfection. The fish is soft and flakes easily while the crispy ajwain infused batter gives a crunchy texture. The Salad accompanying them has a twist with some chaat masala poured over it.

We quench our thirst in between with a spicy Virgin Mary (INR 225) and a sweet Strawberry Fizz (INR 225).

Two platters are passed over that. The Murg Makhni holds its own while the long grained veg pulao impresses with its light flavours. But it’s their non-vegetarian platter which takes your breath away. The chicken sausage is laced with some spicy flavours while the fish is flaky and perfectly flavoured. The lamb, although a bit on the rarer side is marinated well and the chicken steak just melts in your mouth. There’s some delightfully creamy sauce to accompany that and a potato mash to die for. Accompany it with some of the in house garlic bread, and you may just go gaga over it.

We finish our meal with a delectably made Shahi Tukda and a Rasmalai.

RBG’s starkly coloured interiors with some decadently cooked food leaves you satisfied.
