After a long journey from Delhi to Agra, I was in a dire need of a good massage (actually I am ALWAYS in a dire need of a good massage :p). After hearing a lot of positives about ALIVE spa, Radisson Blue Taj EastGate, I decided to give it a try. We were greeted with warmth and a big smile at the ALIVE reception, I could smell the fragrance of essential oils and somehow it mentally made my whole body feel relaxed.
We started by filling out a form which spoke about allergies and different problems we might be facing. On the basis of our forms, the therapist suggested me few massages. She told me the most popular massage is the Swedish Massage, so I decided to give it a try.
About Swedish massage
Swedish massage is a light to moderate pressure massage consisting of long and circular gliding strokes in the direction of blood returning to the heart. It is a 60 minute session of massage to loosen tightened up muscles and eke out sore nerves. Long strokes are used to spread out the contracted muscles. The massage ends with a few minutes in the steam room to sweat out your toxins and a shower or to feel all prim and content.
My Experience
When I entered the therapy room- I felt like a queen. ALIVE spa rooms were luxuriously designed (like a queens chamber :p) and had a really good feel factor, I could smell the essential oils getting heated and I was really looking forward to the therapy. Before the therapy, we were served Jasmine Tea to start our internal cleansing. I changed into a robe and as discussed, long strokes were used on my sore muscles. The strokes were light but they took care of all the problem areas. I was trying too hard to not to doze off and mentally saying “Astha you have to blog about it, STAY UP (:p)!!” The strokes were really relaxing, after the massage I went for steam. Immediately after the steam, I had such a boost of energy. Maybe it was the release of toxins during the steam or the relaxing massage or the combination of both, either ways the massage did its magic and as promised I felt rejuvenated.
On my stay at Radisson, I even got a chance to review Latitude, Colorbar and Daawat-E-Nawaab. To know my review on these restaurants and the absolute “must haves”, simply click on the names of the restaurants and you’ll be directed to their review page. I’ll be soon uploading my review on the property, stay tuned! 🙂
