European food lovers are about to get a treat as Cafe Diva jazz up their new menu for the autumn. It is indeed a special menu as it comes from the kitchen o Delhi’s favourite Diva, chef Ritu Dalmia who had opened yet another restaurant last year, this time it was this gem in Sangam Courtyard. We started our meal with Trio of Bruschetta. The Bruschetta Platter has a fresh Tomato and Basil, eggplant and hung yoghurt and another one with pesto and rocket.
Three distinct flavours on crispy bread with a dash of cheese. Next on our plate was Quinoa and Apricot Salad. Normally when we think of summer salads the images of dark leafy greens and crunchy cool vegetables come to mind but this salad is a slight departure of “normal” summer salad. Apricot Quinoa Salad is a gluten-free salad with vegetables and fruits of the summer season, specifically sweet apricots and Maple lime. Bursts of citrus, fresh herbs, and earthiness from nutty almonds create a great balance of flavors that turns this side dish into a complete entrée if wanted.
Moving further, we tried Ravioli with slow roasted Pumpkin & Feta. This classic Italian pasta is an all time vegetarian delight. Freshly made ravioli, filled with organic pumpkin and delicate feta cheese is simply amazing. For the pizza we settled for a Sunny Margherita pizza. Thin crusted pizza consisted of hand – crushed tomatoes, bocconcini, sundried tomato paste and sweet basil on a crisp base finished with vegetarian parmesan. The journey ended on a sweet note with a huge slice of classic new york cheesecake. The cheesecake was slightly dense in texture but felt light upon eating, the initial bite gives you the taste akin to coconut which takes you by surprise. But as you dig deeper, the cream cheese works its magic and you can’t stop eating it. The double layered chocolate cake satiate the sweet tooth. For all those who love to spend a lazy weekend over lip smacking and authentic Italian meal. Cafe Diva is the place for you to have a warm and delightful experience.
