My friendly neighborhood speakeasy: Sidecar

I am a forever lover of neighborhood bars and finding a cosy one just within walking distance of my home. The Sidecar is Yangdup Lama’s and Minakshi Singh’s newest creation after Cocktails and Dreams in Gurgaon. As I walked in from the Delhi’s wintery chill, the warmth and the laughter in the place had me pumped.

We grabbed a couple of chairs right by the bar on the second floor and ordered up the Classic Sidecar which is usually made with Cognac and a sour element along with Yang’s twist on the Ol’ Fashioned which incorporates a Date and Maple cordial along with a Betel Nut infused Whiskey.

But what sets Sidecar apart from other bars is the number of food options and Bar plates available along with the curated cocktails. We start off with some Bloody Mary prawns which have a typical tangy taste along with some Proscuitto toast that’s absolutely delectable on the palate. The trifecta of fries is one of the best accompaniments that you can have as you try out the cocktails. With Regular Potato, Sweet Potato and Colocasia(Arbi) on offer, we had this finished in a jiffy.

The menu also features a series of bowls that can satiate that growling hunger you might have whipped you after a whole night of partying. We try out the Mediterranean and the Hainese Chicken Bowl which are quite filling on the tummy. Do try out the Doughnut Sandwich which is an explosion of sweet flavours on the palate.
