Jaypee Greens Golf Resort recently organised a Korean food festival and we had a wonderful introduction to the cuisine of this South East Asian powerhouse. In celebration of the Oriental new year of the Rooster, this food festival was geared towards the Korean expats working in the factories of Greater Noida. One of the most endearing parts of the festival was the organisation of local Korean games to give the expats a true homely feel. Boomerang is an airy restaurant located in the lavish greens of the Jaypee Greens Golf resort. We tell you the dishes that stood out for us.
Rice Cake Soup
The rice cake soup is one of the most common soups of the Orient. The chewy soup combined with veggies and chicken is both nutritious and tasty.
Ramen
You can probably call ramen the national dish of Korea. Famous across the train tube stations of Seoul. The ramen noodles are cooked in a broth and then covered with a selection of mushrooms, meat and the famous Hoisin sauce.
Dduck-Guk
Korea’s reply to Sushi is a tasty bite in itself. With sweet crab wrapped between the Nori sheets and special rice, this can be a perfect finger food to consume while playing Golf.
Kimchi
The sour cabbage Kimchi salad takes the honours hands down. With a strong hit of the fiery spice of chillies. The vegetables done with the Kimchi is also something that you should try out.
Korean Chicken Curry
The Korean chicken curry is very similar to that of Bengali one. Made with potatoes and having a slight tinge of sweetness and umami curry taste.
Boomerang at Jaypee Greens Golf Resort plans to offer multiple Oriental food festivals keeping in mind the significant South East Asian diaspora staying in Greater Noida. Do try them out for some authentic South East Asian fare.
