Best Time To Visit Kasauli
The place is at its best between April and November. This is the best time to visit as the weather is pleasant and not too cold. Deep winter (December-February) has temperature hovering between 0°C and 20°C. The peak summer – May and June- sees the mercury hit a high of 32°C.
How to reach –
The airport at Chandigarh is at a distance of 80 km, this is the nearest airport. There are daily flights from Delhi and other cities to this place. It takes about two hours to travel to this place from Chandigarh. The nearest railhead is Kalka, 55 km away. Kalka is the last broad gauge station. From here narrow gauge train goes to Shimla. Dharampur is the nearest narrow gauge station from Kasauli but tourists do not prefer to travel by narrow gauge toy train for the destination as it is nearby from Kalka. It is located just 77kms from Shimla. The distance to the place from Chandigarh is 60kms and from Delhi is 300+ Kms.
Places to visit:
The highest point in Kasauli is the Monkey Point. It’s just 4Kms from the Kasauli bus stand. A small temple is also situated on the top of the hill which is dedicated to Lord Hanuman. The place offers some of the most amazing views of the entire valley and the snow capped peaks of the Himalayas.
2. Christ Church
Set up by the British in 1853, the Christ Church is amidst a picturesque location of pine and deodar trees. The church is anothrt place in Kasauli because of its marvellous architecture. The serene environment offers most visitors to experience a moment of peace when they visit this church.
3. The Mall
The Mall is the main shopping area of the town. It is divided into the lower and the upper mall road. The area houses various shops and restaurants and the famous Kasauli Club. 4. Sunset point
Another famous spot in Kasuali is on upper mall. It is almost 100 mts ahead of Kasauli Club. Sunset view from this place is a moment to treasure. After the Sun-sets one can see an eagle eye view of the far but clear bright lights of Chandigarh, Panchkula, Kalka and Pinjore. Infact once can also clearly see sukhna lake as well.
