Today’s modern city life is stressful. The corporate culture is slowly but steadily sucking the life blood out of you. The advent of technology has led to an increase in an unhealthy lifestyle. In the midst of all this, take some time out for yourself. Kairali Ayurvedic Centre offers you a perfect opportunity to sit back and rejuvenate.
This award winning day spa rejuvenates you thoroughly, allowing you to jump back into the daily grind. The theory of Ayurveda understands the five elements as the root cause of existence, a metaphysics common to all ancient cultures. The five elements appear in different combinations in each of us and form our unique individuality. They work in combination to form the tri-dosha system, including; Vata Dosha, representing ether and air; Pita Dosha representing fire and water; and Kapha Dosha, representing water and earth. Your Ayurvedic doctor acts as a guide to help you bring about more of the elements you lack by restructuring your lifestyle. Every course of Ayurvedic treatment begins with an in-depth personal examination, or Prakruti analysis, to identify the exact balance of elements ruling your body and mind. Book yourself in for one of their most invigorating massage therapies, the Abhyangam (INR 2500) and the Sirodhara (INR 3250). My therapist Suresh and Saiju guide me to the changing room where I change into a lungi. This is followed by entry into the therapy room. The room is Spartan with a special wooden bed (Droni) dominating the centre.
Both the masseurs stand on either side of me applying herbal oil on the head and massaging gently. The therapy is continued on the neck, ears, shoulders, chest and back. They then lie me on my back and the massage is continued from shoulder to toes. The massage consists of long firm strokes that are repeated to gain maximum circulation in the muscles with the massage finally ending in the sitting position. Abhyangam has been found very effective for removing stress and strain, improving eyesight, immunity, longevity, sound sleep, rheumatism, vitality and provides with a glowing skin. This massage also improves the immunity, rejuvenates and maintains the physique.
The next component of the therapy is the Sirodhara. A specially designed apparatus is filled with medicated oil and placed at a specific height. Saiju then swings the apparatus back and forth so that the oil flows continuously and gently across the forehead. During the flow, one of your masseurs may kneed through your hair. The gently flowing oil fells like a soft caress on the forehead. It promotes rejuvenation and revitalization of the human mind and body, diminishing the effect of ageing. This is a special therapy for stress, strain, sleeplessness, hair growth and relaxation.
We end off with some steam in a specially designed compartment followed by a shower where the soap is a poultice of ayurvedic powders. Kairali Ayurvedic Spa offers you a shot at rejuvenating yourself far away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
