Nestled in the ever-buzzing Janpath market, Janpath Grill House is the brainchild of Restauranteur, Bhanu Nehra, who had previously introduced Delhi with Schengen Deli- Bistro and Pub in Chanakyapuri. Janpath Grill House, located in connaught place manages to be architectured on a spacious zone.
The overall décor of Janpath Grill house is really catchy. The entrance has been quirked up with a half Delhi-Auto model installed where all the table reservations takes place. Upon entering the restaurant, you get to see a giant wall with hand-painted lifestyle story of Delhi and its citizens. The dining space has been positioned spaciously with elegant Mughal-inspired paintings and comfortable seats for a great dining experience. They have extensive and comfortable seating arrangement for all sizes. They have family booths on the ground floor, with an extensive bar and a separate area for the buffet. They also have a 1st floor where more intimate seating is available for diners.
Food Talks
To start with, the Indian mocktails are a wise attempt at creating some extra-ordinary mocktails with the Desi Indian flavours – aam ki shikanji and chatori were the drinks that we tried. Each of it had a strong flavour and refreshing touch but aam ki shikanji stole the show.
The starters for our meal began with gol-gappas Janpath grill house style. The gol gappas were baked and the gol gappa water was served in test tubes. The amuse bouche was nitro frymes, the regular frymes topped with liquid nitrogen, which makes it crispier and adds the fun factor as well. It was followed with the server lining up the grilled seekh. We tried on a combination of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian grills like Tandoori Chicken Tikka, Achari Prawns, Wasabi Prawns, Mushrooms with Mustard dressing, Rosemary Fish and Thai Chicken Tikka; to name a few.
Coming to the desserts section, they offer a variety of Delhi sweets like Gulaab Jamun, Rasmalai, Phirni and Kheer. At an economical price range, Janpath offers a good selection of starters and main course with some desi twists to the food. It is real steal.
