ITC Hotels has been working with the motto of Responsible Luxury for quite some time now and this has now transcended to food too. The Pavilion at ITC Maurya is organising an Indian Superfoods menu that promises to offer you healthy stuff that tastes quite good on the palate. The menu has been curated in collaboration with Ishi Khosla, the brains behind the Whole Foods brand. Its outlet at Apollo Hospital is something that I remember fondly as I used to consume their sandwiches for dinner on quite a few night duties.
What does the Indian Superfoods menu have?
As quite a few major changes have been affected to the buffet menu at the Pavilion, it is imperative to start with a glass of Sol Kadhi. A Kokum based drink which is quite famous in the Konkan region, it stimulates the appetite quite a bit with its lovely earthy flavour quite soothing to the temperatures outside. As Quinoa has started to be grown in India, it has become quite prominent in its use in the Indian household. The Quinoa Salad attracts my attention along with one made with Bhatt ki Daal, a pulse which traces its roots to Himachal Pradesh.
The menu also features quite a few interesting dishes which you wouldn’t taste out in daily life including Jowar Methi Pooris with a Pumpkin Sabzi that is perfect for the Navratris along with a Raagi Halwa that had me going back for seconds. A Beetroot Kebab also caught my fantasy with its lovely earthy flavour along with an Oat crusted Chicken. The menu features some of the most interesting superfoods, all in a tasty new avatar that you must try out at The Pavilion, ITC Maurya.
